You can find these items in any local home improvement store. At the bottom of this article we have provided some links to make locating these items easier.
DIYG Tip: The lower the # on the sandpaper the more abrasive or course the sandpaper. Use lower numbers for initial sanding to get the board relatively smooth. User higher numbers for a finer, smoother finish.
DIYG Tip: if staining, use a rag specifically designed for staining. Some cloths (like old towels) can leave lint and other debris which can ruin the finish.
DIYG tip: predrilling holes helps ensure screw holes are straight and wood does not split. It also makes it easier to drill in longer screws that can sometimes easily slip.
DIYG Tip: To help with alignment of hooks, drill the screws in about 3/4ths of the way. This allows you to readjust any hooks that might not be aligned. Once all hooks are aligned, finish drilling the screws in the rest of the way.
